Davitt’s Pub/off licence and Drumkeeran have had a long and successful relationship – In a word Davitt’s Pub is family to the small village, as it has been loyally serving customers there for the past five generations, the premises was established in the early 1800’s. Some noted historical visitors to the pub have been Sean Mc Diarmada, Micheal Davitt, Fanny Parnell to mention a few.

Situated in the heart of Drumkeeran, Davitt’s is one of those places that you grow up with yet is still there long after you are gone.  It truly is a pub that is part of the historical landscape of the village.

Nicely appointed wood features and counter carve out this traditional style pub that is full of character and country charm.  Country sports pictures grace the walls, with a particular emphasis on GAA photos from the many generations who would have drank lemonade and eaten crisps as boys and girls and yet would have come back to savour a quiet pint in later life.   Those looking to watch a match or favourite sporting event can do so on the large plasma TV or the big screen where you can get the latest on GAA, soccer and see live matches from Setanta and Sky Sports.

The pub is run on a family basis and all generations of customers frequent the premises to be welcomed with a cead mile failte.   On weekends Davitt’s has live bands catering to a broad range of musical interests while on Sundays evenings, sees popular county and western and traditional bands perform live.  DJ’s also are featured at 21s and other parties.

There is a heated and partially covered beer garden open for clientele in the warm summer months.  There is also a pool table in the bar for those who might fancy a pot and a wooden floor section of the bar to accommodate those who might fancy a dance.

Davitt’s Pub has always been that special place of tradition to hold a private function or birthday party.  After a local match Davitt’s is the place to go to play the match all over again, something that countless generations have done before, as will no doubt future generations of Davitt’s customers continue to do.
